Here are our guidelines for submissions. This covers the submission process, formatting concerns, length, editing and the like. We have our content guidelines listed here, and it covers what sort of content we accept, don’t accept, and accept on a limited basis.
What format should my submission be in?
We’ve set up a GoogleDocs Template here. Please submit your work following the template. You can go “File -> Make a Copy” to edit the template.
How should I submit my work to you?
Please use the form here to submit your work. We request the story be a GoogleDoc since it is free, accessible software that we can use to easily share edits and comments with you.
Can I make changes to my story after I’ve submitted it?
Yes. We literally cannot stop you. However, make sure you submit a finished draft of your story the first time and do not make any changes to your story after the deadline. We will not see any changes you’ve made after the deadline. If you make changes to your story before the deadline, please make a note of the last time it was modified so we review the latest draft.
What kind of content are you looking for?
We are looking for original, erotic LGBTQ+ short stories in any narrative style (first person, second person, third person) including characters with any gender identity. While we accept stories in any fiction genre, we ask that these submissions fit one of our Calls for Submissions topics. We will accept some non-erotic submissions. You can view our full content guidelines here.
What sort of authors are you looking for?
We are looking for authors 21 years of age or older and preferably LGBTQ+ themselves. We definitely accept and encourage pen names.
How long should my short story be?
At this time, we are looking for short stories are between 2,000-5,000 words and we will accept stories up to 10,000 words.
Does my short story have to be a new story I’ve written specifically for you?
No. So long as the story fits our content guidelines and hits one of the topics in our Call for Submissions, you’re welcome to submit it. You can edit or change old works to better fit with us as well.
Can my short story have appeared somewhere else previously?
Yes, but please disclose this with us. Your short story does not have to exclusively appear here, but we do prefer that if your story appears on websites that you do not profit from and can control the content on (Archive of Our Own, Tumblr, Wattpad, etc), that it only appears here instead for the first two years so we’re not competing with extremely popular sites. This isn’t something we’ll actually enforce though!
How edited does my story have to be?
We are looking for complete works that are fully edited. Please make sure you’re not sending us a first or early draft. We will be giving your submission a final edit if accepted, but we won’t be able to accept stories that need a lot of changes or require us to completely edit the work ourselves.
General Formatting Concerns
We accept submissions in English. While we do not require you to conform to US English, please do stay consistent in the subsection of English that you choose. We do not accept submissions in Old English.
Please use bold, italics, underlines, or ellipses as little as possible in the body of your fic. If you feel you must use them, use them minimally.
We unfortunately cannot accept any font colour changes
Please simply use a “*” to mark breaks in your short story.
Please do not include any images with your short story.
Please do not phonetically spell out accents.
If your characters are speaking in another language, please use GoogleDocs comments to provide the translation for us and we’ll figure out how to display it on the site without removing the original language. If you do not speak the language, make sure you’ve consulted with someone who actually speaks that language so it is grammatically correct and phrased properly.
